This SMS policy outlines the guidelines for using text messages (SMS) to communicate with clients and staff of Dieset Home Care Services. Our goal is to provide convenient and efficient communication while respecting your privacy and adhering to all applicable regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
2. Consent
Clients: The information (Phone Numbers) obtained as part of the SMS consent process will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes. By providing your mobile phone number to Dieset Home Care Services, you consent to receive SMS messages from us for the purposes outlined in this policy. You may opt-out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying “STOP” to any message you receive or by contacting us directly at 469-391-8969 or privacy@DiesetHomeCareServices.com. For messages containing Protected Health Information (PHI), we will obtain your explicit written consent, as required by HIPAA, before sending such messages. This consent will outline the specific types of PHI that may be shared via SMS and the purpose of such communication.
Staff: As a condition of employment, staff members consent to receive SMS messages related to work schedules, shift changes, emergency notifications, and other essential work-related communications. Staff may opt-out of non-essential SMS communications (e.g., company updates) by contacting their department managers.

If you have consented to receive text messages from Dieset Home Care Services, you may receive SMS messages for the following purposes:
Appointment Reminders: To remind you of upcoming appointments. Example: “Hello, this is a friendly reminder of your upcoming appointment with our in-home assessment manager at your home on [Date] at [Time]. You can reply STOP to opt out of SMS messaging from Dieset Home Care Services at any time.”
Shift Scheduling/Changes (Staff): To communicate work schedules, shift changes, and related information to staff.
General or Billing Inquiries: To respond to general or billing inquiries about our services.

SMS messages from Dieset Home Care Services will be concise, professional, and relevant to the intended purpose. When communicating PHI via SMS (only after obtaining explicit written consent), we will take appropriate safeguards to protect the confidentiality and integrity of the information.
5. Message Frequency
The frequency of SMS messages will vary depending on the use case. We will strive to keep message frequency reasonable and maybe up to 2 SMS messages per week, and avoid excessive messaging. You can expect more frequent messages during times of emergencies or for time-sensitive communications (e.g., appointment reminders, shift changes).
6. Confidentiality and Security
Dieset Home Care Services takes the confidentiality and security of your information seriously. We utilize RingCentral’s secure platform for SMS communication, which includes industry-standard encryption measures. We will not share your mobile phone number or other personal information with third parties without your consent, except as required by law. For PHI, we adhere to all HIPAA regulations regarding transmission and storage of electronic protected health information.
7. Potential Fees for SMS Messaging
Dieset Home Care Services does not charge you to receive SMS messages. However, your mobile carrier’s standard messaging rates may apply. Please check with your carrier for details.
8. Opt-Out Method:
You can opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time. To do so, simply reply “STOP” to any SMS message you receive. Alternatively, you can contact us directly to request removal from our messaging list.
